Rolling road – TDi North : Warrington

I have booked in to TDi North for over a month after hearing of extensive rave reviews on Paul’s mapping skills with the kpro ecu module for Honda’s alike. So with this said, I turned up at 9am, and 4 hours later, a full remap from scratch.

The car managed to make 246.7bhp, which is up 37bhp from standard from when I had it on the rollers back in 2009 at Thorney Motorsports which achieved a measly 209.7bhp at standard.

Paul was happy with the map, detailing with my existing engine bay mods, of how smooth the map is, and true to his words, this was. I took it for a quick spin and my oh my, the acceleration is linear and smooth to the extent you don’t even feel the vtec kick in at 4500rpm, but you certainly hear it :D. He explained that despite not reaching the 250bhp that I wanted, this will probably be the case on an open road as the rollers big fans can’t imitate the way the air flow needs to be with where the AEM CAI (cold air induction) filter is located.

With all this done, all that’s left is the oil mods before taking it on the track to test the car’s limits, RAR!! :D

The top garage shot is a classic. Tough scene to make look good but you nailed it.

Prosport digital gauges

I finally got round to getting some oil gauges in to monitor oil temperature and oil pressure. Other metering seems to be on standard on the Integra Type R anyways so spent the money on some place that’s required. I’ll be uprating my oil baffled sump at some point as well as getting a race oil cooler to regulate the temperature.

I was originally going to go for Defi gauges but they are just so expensive for what they are; in the end I settled for Prosport from America, even on import for two gauges, adapter plates plus gauge visors, the cost including shipping to the UK and import duty/vat, the cost was still less than one Defi gauge! How about that?

They arrived today, so hopefully will get these fitted end of the month at TDi North :D

Richard & Claudia – wedding shoot : Ringwood Hall Hotel, Chesterfield

I’ve had another wedding shoot up at Ringwood Hall Hotel in Chesterfield, this feels almost like my 2nd home as I’m assisting Matt Sanderson again, love this place!

Richard and Claudia themselves were so fun to work with, never stopped smiling, and certainly never stopped laughing, I can’t ask for more really on a wedding day… oh and maybe nice overcast weather :D. Here’s a selection of when I got some free time to shoot. If this was my own album design, I felt black and white told the story best.

Oh and one more thing (another reason I didn’t put any more up haha), in the last photo, no that isn’t Nicola from Girls Aloud; and yes she does look a bit like her, but no it ain’t her :P

Yep, I can get into it more when I shoot as an assistance or do my own weddings :)

You must really like black and white. Nice work. I really like the candidness of the last shot.

Really like the blog design in general – the background texture is smooth and works perfect when the top photo banner is the model with the flailing wedding dress. Would even be tempted to keep at as that pic constantly…

Jap Show 2010 – Santa Pod : Poddington, Wellingborough

Some say I’m a car geek; that be an understatement but at the same time… yes I love my cars! Jap cars, motorsport, engines, whatever, I love it!! :D.

Anyway, it’s that time of the year again for another round of Jap Show held at Santa Pod, and with it being down the road from me, it be wrong for me not to attend. As per usual, Jap cars galore, track beasts, drag monsters, and those that are purely on for show and shine.

As the hot day commenced, there was the smell of burnt rubber from the 1/4 mile drag strip competition. The smell of the drift cars, not to mention the stunt drivers throughout the show. Like with all cars and of similar attraction, there were some of the show girls parading their sponsors/companies around the place all day.

I’ve managed to capture a bit of everything including a crash that involved the 1000bhp Honda Civic Type R by TDi North. The monster is crazy, but unfortunately one of the drive shafts snapped just shortly after the start which sent the car crashing into the other lane but luckily rear ended; else this might of been an even more expensive fix.
